Over the last seven years I have had two house bunnies. Jensen and Dottie (in the first picture). Jensen was my first rabbit and he bonded with me like I was another rabbit. At the same time every day Jensen would nudge me and that was his way of telling me, it was time to play.
Jensen

He would circle round my feet, run off and binky. I knew Jensen was happy playing as he would honk. When Jensen wanted cuddles he would come and sit in front of the sofa and lookup at me.

He didn’t like sitting on my lap instead he would love me to sit next to him on the floor and I would stroke him for long periods of time and he would purr.

He would show affection to me by nibbling my clothes. Even though Jensen loved my company he also loved being by himself. During these times he would go and flop in his favourite spots under the bed or underneath the tv.

Jenson was diagnosed with auto immune anaemia at 3 years old and nearly died. Jenson was kept in the vets for a week whilst they investigated his condition. During this time I visited him every day as he would only eat when I was there.

The vets made the decision it would be far more beneficial for Jenson to go home and for me to syringe feed him. I then started the journey of learning how to inject Jenson with steroids and antibiotics. Jenson was 6 years and 7 months old when he died of a tumour which couldn’t be cured.

The bond we had was like no other and I miss him loads.

Dottie

Dottie is Jensons granddaughter and was born the day before Jenson died. This made Dottie very special. Dottie is fiercely independent and now at 8 months old knows her own mind.

Dottie loves cuddles and will sit on your lap or the bed for ages being stroked. She shows love to me my nibbling my clothes. In the morning when I go downstair she will bounce towards me and want strokes and cuddles. Dottie will flop and binky when she is happy. Dottie loves me chasing her and will chase me in return.
Even though Dottie is only 8 months Dottie and I have formed a close bond and equally with my husband. She is an amazing, affectionate, and social bunny. Xx
She has grown well and it loving life as a house bunny.
