The National Angora Club had stands at two craft festivals in July and August this year. Fibre-East took place at Redbourne School, Ampthill, Bedford on 27th July, after a very hot week. Thankfully the temperature dropped so it was safe to bring Cheyenne, the Smoke Angora.

Anne demonstrated spinning pure Angora on the wheel, whilst Lesley taught spindle spinning.

Rain meant that the marquee floor was very wet, giving us a problem with storage, but at least the rabbit was cool! Her cage fans also helped.

A fellow stallholder gave us this lovely mascot that she made from our Angora wool.

The British Wool Show was at York Auction Centre, Murton on Friday 9th August.

Sandra, Judith and Rebekah manned the stand. Cheyenne and Violet, a well behaved Lilac doe, accompanied us. The Club did crafts for children, with flower looms, braid wheels, weaving sticks, pom poms and cardboard loom weaving, as well as teaching spindle spinning. These are the last of the craft festivals this year, giving all those rabbits time to grow more wool!
